Dr. N.D. Jayakumar completed his BDS from the prestigious Madras Dental College in 1985 and went on to graduate as a Gold Medalist in MDS Periodontics in 1989 from his alma mater. He is currently the Dean of Faculty, Saveetha Dental College. He is a passionate teacher and has over 30 years of teaching experience in training under-graduate and post-graduate students. He has over 35 publications in various PubMed and Scopus-indexed journals. He has lectured widely in national and international fora. Dr. Jayakumar is a Ph.D guide, currently guiding two Ph.D scholars.

Dr. Sheeja S. Varghese., MDS, PhD
PROFESSOR & REGISTRAR
Thrust Areas: Immunology, Genetics, Molecular Biology & Regenerative Periodontics
Dr. Sheeja S. Varghese is currently a Professor in the Department of Periodontics and the Registrar of Saveetha Dental College. She completed both her BDS in 1991 and MDS in 1994 from Government Dental College, Trivandrum. She has served the institution for over 25 years. She has over 80 Publications to her credit and is also a PhD guide. She has 8 PhD scholars under her tutelage. She has also delivered numerous guest lectures and also served as a undergraduate and postgraduate examiner for many universities. She is a dedicated faculty and has won the punctuality and workaholic award at Saveetha Dental College on numerous occasions.

Dr. R. Sankari., MDS, PhD
PROFESSOR, ASSOCIATE DEAN OF CLINICS & HOD (ACADEMICS)
Thrust Areas: Periodontal Medicine, Periodontal regeneration with PRF & Stem cell therapy
Dr. Sankari is a Professor and Administrative Head in the Department of Periodontics. She completed her BDS in 1995 in Saveetha dental college and MDS in 2002 from Tamil Nadu Govt.Dental College. She has over 17 years of experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates alike. She has over 70 publications in various national and international journals to her credit. She has completed her PhD in our university in the field of Melatonin and Periodontal disease. Her areas of interest include stem cells in periodontal regeneration, Platelet concentrates and melatonin in periodontal therapy.

Dr. G. Kaarthikeyan., MDS, PhD

Thrust Areas: Genetics, Implantology & Regenerative surgery
Dr. Kaarthikeyan is currently a Professor and Clinical Head of the Periodontics Department (Academics). He completed his BDS in 2001 at Tamil Nadu Govt. Dental College & MDS in 2007 from Saveetha Dental College. He has over 13 years of experience in training undergraduates and postgraduates alike. He is currently guiding 2 PhD scholars in SIMATS & he is also an Expert & Doctoral Committee member for PhD Thesis at SRM & SRMC Universities. He has over 45 publications to his credit. He has contributed a book chapter titled “Genetic Biomarkers in Periodontal Disease Diagnosis” with IntechOpen Publishers. He has delivered 17 Guest Lectures Nationally & Internationally at Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok & Amsterdam. He has one Patent Filed on “Periodontal Soft Tissue Expanders”. He has received 1 ICMR STS Grant & 1 Technical Grant from BeHeard.

Dr. R. Jaiganesh., MDS PhD

Thrust Areas: Local Drug Delivery Systems, Bone Grafting, Photodynamic therapy, Periodontal Regeneration with growth factors, Periodontal treatment under conscious sedation, Nano Formulated Herbal Extracts, 3D Scaffolds.
Dr.R.Jaiganesh is presently working as a Professor and Academic Head of the Periodontics Department, Saveetha Dental College and Hospitals. He has 15 years of experience as a Faculty in this institution. He had completed his BDS in Ragas Dental College in 2003 and MDS in Saveetha Dental College in 2007. He has completed his Ph.D in Herbal Extracts in the treatment of periodontal disease in 2022 and currently he is guiding Ph.D students. He has authored a Textbook for undergraduate students named “Textbook of Periodontics” with EMMESS publishers. He has attended 12 International Conferences including IADR London, FDI Sydney and 20 National Conferences and presented scientific papers and posters. He has chaired scientific sessions in ISP National conferences and National IDA conferences. He has got 115 publications to his credit out of which 70 are scopus indexed, 11 are pubmed indexed and 34 are in Web of Science Index. He has attended 10 workshops and conducted 2 workshops and was part of the organizing committee for 25 CDE Programmes. He is a life member of Indian Society of Periodontology. He has received various awards like Global faculty award, Best Periodontist of the year 2022, IDA Molaris Senior Academician Award for 2023.
